Rook Game 802
Measures 16" long by 11" wide - $25
Board is made of Maple and game pieces are wooden.
The Rook Game is played with two dice and one deck of cards with all Aces, Kings, and Jokers removed. Six or more players are delt all the cards. The more players, the more fun. The first person throws the dice. Whatever numbers rolled are added together, the Rook of that number is moved down_ to the "5" row and the player must pay 5 cents. The next player throws the dice and the number of the Rook thrown is moved down to the "10" row and the player must pay 10 cents. The third player then throws the dice and the number of the Rook thrown is moved down to the "15" row and the player must pay 15 cents. The fourth player throws the dice and the number of the Rook thrown is moved down to the "20" row and the player must pay 20 cents. If the number thrown is the same as one of the Rooks already below the start line, the player must pay the amount of indicated money into the pot. Thereafter, each player throws the dice in turn. If the sum of the dice equals the number of a Rook that has NOT been moved below the start line, that Rook is moved up ONE space. If the player throws a number of one of the Rooks below the start line, they must pay the money indicated by the line that Rook is on - that is 5 to 20 cents. If a player no longer holds any winning cards (that is all Rooks with their cards lie below the starting line) they must still throw the dice advancing racing Rooks one space or paying any loses to the pot if throwing a "disqualified" Rook number (a Rook below the start line). The game is over when one of the Rooks reaches the top of their runway. When this happens, everyone holding a card of that value divides the pot and the game is started over.
